MEA PREVIEW — TESTING

The Bag Colours That Make Denim Look Better

Denim is easy. That is exactly why the bag matters. The right colour can make jeans feel polished, relaxed or sharper without changing anything else in the outfit.

A great bag can also make denim more interesting. Black always works, but it is rarely the only answer.

Chocolate brown

This is probably the easiest place to start. Chocolate works beautifully with dark indigo, mid-blue and washed denim. It feels softer than black and gives the outfit more depth.

Pair a chocolate shoulder bag with dark denim, a white shirt and loafers, or with blue jeans and a navy knit. It is one of those combinations that feels immediately considered without looking over-styled.

Burgundy

Burgundy is stronger, but still surprisingly versatile. It works especially well with mid-blue denim. The contrast gives the outfit more personality than black, while still feeling polished.

Try it with jeans, a grey knit and a long coat. The bag does most of the work.

Tan and caramel

Tan is lighter and more relaxed. It works particularly well with white denim, faded blue jeans and warmer neutrals.

A caramel bag with denim, cream knitwear and a trench is an easy combination that works across seasons. It also helps brighten darker outfits without feeling too summery.

Cream

Cream bags make denim feel cleaner and more elevated. They work especially well with washed denim and light blue jeans.

Keep the rest of the outfit simple. White shirt, denim, cream bag. Done.

And yes, black still works

Black is still the easiest option when the outfit already has contrast. Think dark denim, white shirting, black loafers and a black structured bag. The key is not to default to black every time.

Sometimes the bag is the easiest way to make denim feel new again.
