MEA PREVIEW — TESTING

Are We Finally Over the Micro Bag?

The micro bag was never really about carrying things. That was part of the joke. But fashion is shifting.

Three handbags in increasing sizes lined up on a marble surface.

It worked as jewellery, colour and proportion rather than storage.

The mood has changed

Large shoulder bags, totes and soft carry-alls are appearing across luxury collections. Even smaller bags are becoming slightly more practical.

People still want personality. They just want somewhere to put a phone as well.

Small is not disappearing

Mini bags will always have a place. They work for dinner, events and outfits where the bag is primarily decorative. But the idea that smaller automatically feels more fashionable is fading.

Practical can still look good

The interesting part of the change is that larger bags no longer need to look functional. Designers are using soft leather, suede, unusual proportions and strong shapes to make useful bags feel desirable again.
